WHO QUALIFIES

Application Criteria

To be able to apply, you must meet the following criteria:

You have at least one child in your family, younger than 13 at the time you apply

Your total family income is less than the Region's Low Income Cut Off (LICO) Guidelines listed below.

Note: Income is considered from all sources such as employment, child tax credit, child support, spousal support or disability pension. Income must be verified.

You can and will volunteer at least 250 hours per applicant for Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region.
Your family has a steady income, but you do not qualify for a mortgage from a bank or mortgage lender.

All members of your family are Canadian citizens or have Landed Immigrant status.

You can prove that you have lived in Waterloo Region continuously for the last three years or more.

You can provide us with references from employers, banks, your landlord, three other people who are not relatives.

And, if you have had a bankruptcy, it must have been discharged for at least three years.
