Habitat’s Vision

As an Affiliate of Habitat for Humanity Canada, HFHWR promotes Habitat Canada's vision: "A world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live."

HFHWR implements this national vision in Waterloo Region through its own vision: "Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region will be recognized and welcomed throughout the community as a leader in advocacy for, and provision of, affordable housing that helps people in need through an increase in housing supply, housing type and resource acquisition."

Habitat's Mission

HFHWR promotes Habitat Canada's mission: "To mobilize volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting homeownership as a means to break the cycle of poverty."

HFHWR implements the national mission in Waterloo Region through its own mission: "Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region is a team of enthusiastic volunteers and staff, guided by Christian values, who are committed to assisting families in need with the life-changing opportunity for buying decent affordable housing."

Our Values

Housing for All: We believe that access to safe, decent and affordable housing is a basic human right that should be available to all.
